Passion and Purpose are topics that are currently very prominent in Christian culture. The Scriptures are clear that Christ was passionate about His purpose to reconcile man to God. Christ’s passion (or value) for us was shown through His actions. He was willing to go as far as death and being separated from the Father (due to sin that was not His own) to fulfill His purpose. Scriptures go on to say that now with restitution having been made for our debt, our purpose is to be like Jesus in every way. How far must we go for the fulfillment of our purpose? Are we similarly willing to be separated from everything that we know as familiar and fulfilling? What will the evidence of our lives show for how much we truly valued a relationship with God?
