Most everyone experiences the phenomenon of time accelerating throughout life. There are theories that this phenomenon is due to the growing total amount of time lived in relation to the ever-fleeting moment, or perhaps it is simply due to increased activities. Whatever the reason, it seems true to say that time flies. “Busy” is a familiar answer to the inquiry of how someone is doing and it is a regular occurrence for a year or so to flit away without realizing that an important goal was completely forgotten. Choices with serious implications are made without much serious consideration and an internal emptiness often occurs. Control has been given to the momentum of life.
What are controlling factors in people’s lives? Can the pattern of dissipation be avoided? Can a fulfilling life be intentionally obtained?
