The human condition is innately hungry and thirsty for something that the world cannot provide. Mankind has a deep need within that simply cannot be fulfilled by external actions or things. Despite the American Dream, we cannot ‘pull ourselves up by our bootstraps’ and resolve this situation. This becomes apparently obvious to each individual periodically, even cyclically, throughout life. The suspicions, doubts and frustrations that often bring depression and hopelessness are painfully accurate.
However, there is good news! There is hope. Despite the ignorance, selfishness and poor choices of mankind, God has taken action. He has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile for the choices of man. God’s singular purpose in this merciful action was to reconcile us to Him, to make it possible for individuals to have direct relationship with God, by whom we were designed to be nourished by. Jesus Christ came to Earth as a man, walked the perfect life, endured and persevered through all of the temptations of man, gave us an example to follow and ultimately gave His life as a sacrifice which paid the sin debt of all mankind in full. He did this free of charge, because we are so valuable to Him, and His grace pours over those who accept it so that we might have Life in Him. He has provided hope for the hopeless.
